PRESIDENT/CEO/FOUNDER/DIRECTOR
Evangelist Afunwa Peters Okelue
Evangelist Afunwa Peters Okelue is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Afro-Care Rescue Mission Corporation. Evangelist Okelue is a missionary whose passion is sharing God’s love, talent and treasures with the least among us. Evangelist Okelue founded the Afro-Care Rescue Mission Corporation in 2008 to help serve more of the underserved by providing food, medicines, shelter to the poor, sick, elderly and children on a global basis. Mr. Okelue’s evangelization has taken him to several countries in Africa, the Caribbean, Central and South America. Evangelist Okelue’s mission continues to serve people in Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Brazil, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Honduras and Mexico.
VICE PRESIDENT/CFO/DIRECTOR
Vitalis Ozoude CPA, MBA
​Mr. Ozoude is a former president of the African Union of Northern Nevada (AUNN) and the African Union of Northern Nevada Charities. Prior to becoming president of the African Union of Northern Nevada, he served as vice president and financial secretary of the Union. Mr. Ozoude currently serves as the treasurer of the American Youth Soccer Organization Northern Nevada Region 166. Mr. Ozoude is also on the Audit Committee of the Washoe County School District’s Board. Mr. Ozoude retired in 2020 from the State of Nevada Governor’s Finance Office where he held a position as an Audit Manager. Prior to joining the Governor’s Office, Mr. Ozoude was a Senior Auditor with the Nevada Gaming Control Board. Mr. Ozoude’ is passionate about soccer and volunteerism. He is very involved in soccer coaching and refereeing in Northern Nevada.


VICE PRESIDENT/DIRECTOR
Pastor Marilyn Peters
Ms. Peters has extensive experience providing missionary services through Eastern Mennonite Missions and Communitas mission organizations. Her pastoral duties have taken her to international churches in Europe namely, Crossroads-Amsterdam and Crossroads – The Hague in the Netherlands. Ms. Peters also served as a missionary at Christ Church in Montevideo, Uruguay. Ms. Peters is currently employed by Mennonite Central Committee, a Christian humanitarian organization that focuses on relief, development and peace. Ms. Peters is very passionate about helping others and has many years of experience doing God‘s work by serving in several Christian charitable and nonprofit organizations.
BOARD MEMBERS/DIRECTORS
Jackie & Arjan Brandsema
Jackie and Arjan first met in Amsterdam, NL in the summer of 1993. They ran their own business while raising their three children. They recently downsized their home and their work-related responsibilities and are looking forward to new volunteer involvements. They are excited to come alongside the existing team with a desire to help Afro-Care Rescue Mission grow, reaching and serving even more people, especially those who need it most. Of note, Jackie's life was impacted when she served for six months with Mercy Ships in Guinea and Ivory Coast, with a stop in Tenerife.

M. & R. Rutt
M. & R. Rutt have a long history of interest in international development and missions. M. is a former board member of Eastern Mennonite Missions. R. has worked for over 20 years at a not-for-profit fair trade retail organization. They are excited to help Afro-Care Rescue Mission expand its mission and develop opportunities to provide support and resources to those who need it most. They have two grown daughters, two sons-in-law and one grandchild.

Afro-Care Rescue Mission Corporation is a non-profit charitable organization that strives to share God's love, compassion, and hope globally to the least among us by providing food, medicines, and hospital care to the sick, poor and hungry in our communities. We collaborate with other charitable and non-profit organizations such as churches, medical facilities and homeless shelters to provide assistance to the poor, children, sick, homeless and the elderly throughout Africa, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
